Games, Respect and Customers

Standard

So recently, I’ve been addicted to this new game called tomodachi life. Everyday, I will check just to see what my miis are up to. Sometimes they need food, new clothes or even help sneezing. Even though the game gets repetitive after long hours of playing, I still find surprises. Just the other day my mii wanted to confess to another mii and when she went to confess, not one but 2 other miis suddenly popped out and confessed their love for him and the guy picks another mii over the one who wanted to confess!

The other day my friend was telling me about how he couldn’t get a job at a restaurant washing dishes because he didn’t have a college degree. What kind of world do we live in where we need degrees for something like that? Everyone knows how to do that, we shouldn’t need to go to college for every little thing. I honestly wish there were more jobs available to people who didn’t have degrees. Otherwise how can we afford all the books and to be able to go to classes if we can’t pay for them?

I might be a girl but I believe in equality. I believe that respect is a two way street and it doesn’t matter what gender you are, if you want respect you have to earn it. I do not believe that either gender is superior to the other, both have their differences.

So I had this customer the other day who forgot her watermelon and makes me get it. So far that’s already pretty annoying. Why do I have to get something for you, just because you don’t want to get it? So I just walk over to the watermelon box, pick up the first one I see and bring it back. She doesn’t like that one either, so I’m forced to go back and get yet another one which she accepted. I am just grateful she didn’t ask me to get a third because at that point her order was on its way to being over and I would have told her to go ahead and pick one out herself, as I am not going to go through an entire of box of watermelons for one customer.

On another note, I am getting tired of customers try to help me. Either let me bag your stuff, or ask to bag it yourself. I don’t mind if a customer requests to bag their stuff. I personally prefer doing that too. But I can’t stand when customers are constantly watching every single thing I do or criticizing something I do. If you don’t like the way I’m bagging, then please do us both a favor and ask to do it yourself.

That’s all for today. Sorry for long wait

Anime and Work

Standard

Do you ever hear people talking about how anime is  just cartoons and for kids?  Well technically they are cartoons but made in japan but not all anime is meant for kids.  There are a number of anime series that are ok for children to watch, but there are  a few series that are meant for a much older crowd. I love all the genres of anime and wish people wouldn’t think its always for kids only.  Anime I think is better then american cartoons because cartoon animation doesn’t seem as good.  Personally I think there is nothing wrong with someone who is older then 40 (I myself am 25) who enjoys it.  If you like watching you should be allowed to watch without being judged.

So the other day, our store suffered a plastic bag shortage.  There was a lot of upset customers who didn’t like the thought of having to use paper and while I agree that paper can be frustrating to use as ours don’t have any handles, you also do  not need to take it out on us.  This is why whenever I plan to go shopping, I always try to bring in a reusable bag to work with me when I go shopping to avoid having to use paper should we be out of plastic.

Dear facebook parents who just have to post pictures of their babies all over facebook, Stop.  Does every single post you make have to be about the way you thought your baby laughing was cute or the fact that they made a mess over something?  Or even just a baby selfie? Yes I know you’re in love with your baby but not the rest of facebook feels this way.   And what’s up with using your baby’s face as your profile pic, what have you suddenly magically de-aged to the age of 6 months somehow? Please just to stick to a few after the birth and the rest on request please.

I had a customer who got really super close to me while i was doing an order.  She was close enough that I was afraid to back into her and so I stayed as close to the register as possible.  It has nothing to do with the person themselves, the problem is you should not be invading my personal bubble.  It personally makes me uncomfortable to have a customer who is right behind you.

Then there are the customers who once you’re half way (or in some cases completely done) finished bagging their things and they’re like “I have bags/I want paper bags”. I have to mentally groan.  I don’t want to be a bitch but please try to at least tell us your bag preferences before we start the order if you need it done a certain way.  It sucks when you are almost done with an order and suddenly you have to take everything out and rebag everything.

I recently finished watching the anime “Daily Lives of High School Boys”.  I liked the humor and randomness in the show and how they even had a  “High School Girls are Funky” segment at the end of each episode.  Some of the humor is funny and some of it you can predict what will happen. but thats why I liked it.  It’s nice if you’re looking for a comedy anime that doesn’t have much of a plot, just comedic scenes of everyday lives.

Thats all for now

Stuff

Ok to anyone who feels need to tell me to put frozen stuff in insulated bags, don’t worry you don’t need to explain.  Anyone who’s old enough to have a job should automatically know to put cold things in there and not in the other bags.  Although I don’t see why people like those ridiculously huge reusuable bags.  They are too big in my opinion and you can easily overfill them if you’re not careful.  TJ Maxx bags, I’m looking at you.

Dear everyone who likes to complain about the prices, stop.  If you want to complain, take it to the service desk and complain to them.  I get sick of hearing every day people flipping out over a price.  If you don’t like it, don’t buy it. I don’t make the prices of our items and can’t do anything for you about it.

Personally I’m a big fan of pokemon. My favorites would have to be Gastrodon and Glaceon.  Gastrodon because I somehow find this water/ground sea slug pokemon cute.  Plus you can’t ignore its excellent typing being only weak to grass. Glaceon because I just can’t help but find it beautiful. For whatever reason I prefer my Glaceon’s to be female, maybe because it looks like it has hair on its sides.  I also love ice types despite the number of weaknesses they have.  Gotta give props to Frosslass for being immune to fighting (one of ices weaknesses).  Weavile is one of my friends favorite pokemon but unfortunetly it is very weak to fighting lol. But Weavile has a very nice attack stat and is quite fast.

That’s all for now

Some Customers Think Your Store Is a Playground

Standard

Have you ever had someone who just wanted to be an annoying butt-hole?  I had one of those the other day. Here I am, calmly walking down the aisle with my carriage doing a few returns when all of a sudden some guy in a mart cart thinks target practice using plastic balls is a good idea.  Maybe he wasn’t aiming for me but that’s still very annoying.  What if he missed and hit someone with it, or made a mess, a mess that I would have to clean because of his own stupidity. The box of balls might be right next to me but I still have to take 2 minutes out of my own time to put the ball back.  Why don’t you do us both a favor and not treat our store as a basketball court, ok?  He’s like “don’t I get points”  I’m like “5 points”.  In my head 5 points for being an annoying ass.   Later as I’m finishing up returns I go by him and hearing him tell his daughter (or whoever it was with him) “some people just can’t take a joke”. Well excuse me sir but some people can’t take rude and ignorant people like yourself.

Have you ever watched someone pay a cashier with a 100 singles?  Seriously that is a lot of ones.  You’re either a stripper or a waitress.  In either case get yourself to a bank first and spare us the trouble of having to count all that shit.   I keep all my pocket money in my front pocket and tho I don’t usually keep 100 dollars on me, I would not want to have them all in singles, simply for them being annoying to count up and the fact that it is a huge wad of money in your pocket that takes up a ton of space.

In non related work stuff, I am a huge anime fan.  I just recently finished watching the new Fairy Tail episodes, and I am so psyched to see how this will all play out.  I do watch other genres as well. Clannad is my all time favorite romance anime and the only one so far that has been able to make me cry.

Good night everyone, until my next post

Co-Workers And Other Complaints

Standard

So you’re doing  your job while bagging up customers orders and minding your own business when suddenly the bagger a couple registers down asks you if you can help a customer outside. You look over and see their bagger is a young girl and could probably handle it herself.  What do you say when they ask you to do something she can probably do herself (the bagger not the customer)? This is what happened to me.  The girl only looked a couple years younger then me (maybe 16-18). I myself am a 25 year old girl. She didn’t appear to have a cast or anything. One of our regulars who comes in always uses paper bags and needs help outside.  I don’t have a problem normally but I wasn’t bagging for her today, the younger girl was and she looked perfectly capable of doing it herself to me.  So why not help the customer yourself?  You’re at her register and I’m a few feet away.  If you’re right there and can do it, then you should be the one to go out.  I really hope this isn’t a case of not going simply because she didn’t want to.  Helping people out to the car is sometimes part of the job and I’ve done it myself a few times before, however if I’m not bagging for that customer but someone who can’ do it is right there, why should I have to go just because they don’t want to?  It’s not just about doing what you want when you have a job to do.  Sometimes you have to do things you don’t want to, because working is about earning money and doing your job, not making other people do the work for you.

Speaking of customers who need help out to the car, only one has baffled me.  This one customer really baffled me for a number of reasons. First of all she started by putting every single item into its own bag,  As this was going on, I couldn’t help but mentally wince at the number of bags going to waste.  Because putting a magazine in with your loaf of bead is clearly putting too much weight right? (Excuse my sarcasm please). Afterwords, she needs help out to the car for items that really aren’t that heavy.  If its really too much for you to carry, then go grab a carriage and put the bags in there.

On a non-work related note, while i am a girl I do not consider myself a girly girl nor a tomboy. I really don’t like to use labels and I feel like neither label suits me anyways.  While I do love jewelry and wearing different necklaces, I do not care about fashion at all and if something is in style or not. I just care if i like the way it looks.  I also own 3 pairs of shoes total. A pair of every day sneakers, a dress up pair and a pair of black winter boots.  As far as clothing goes, I’m a t-shirt and jeans type of girl. I do love playing games on my 3Ds and watching anime. I’m also a big fan of the new pokemon games tho at the moment i can’t take battle requests.

Well that’s all I have for tonight.  More later

More Grocery Store Rants and a couple others

Standard

Don’t you just love the way when a customer is pissed off at you, they’ll say your name as if thats supposed to intimidate you?  It doesnt do it for me, I don’t even like my name that much anyways, so no biggie.

Then you have the customer that suddenly doesn’t want their fruit after it touches the belt.  Ok first of all if you don’t want them touching it, that’s why we have plastic bags sitting around the produce area just for that purpose. Second, you know you can just wash the fruit right?

I don’t understand people who buy things just because they’re on sale.  I see it as pointless. Why buy something that you wouldn’t normally buy just because it’s on sale?  I have the same argument with coupons.  I’ll use them but only if its on something i’d normally buy anyways. For example I don’t eat yogurt. Let’s say yogurts cost 25 cents each (yes i know they’re probably more expensive but for arguments sake we’ll call them a quarter each.)  Let’s say you have a coupon for buy 2 get 1 free. I would still not use it because as I don’t even eat yogurt, its useless to me.  And I’d be paying 50 cents for 3 yogurts I won’t even be eating. It just does not make any sense to me.  Speaking of coupons, FYI people, if a coupon says its specific to a certain store, it has to be used there.  Unless it’s Christmas/Thanksgiving, we do not take them if they’re not for our store.

Overheard comment.  Cashier says “I guess the corn doesn’t like me very much”.  Customer: “well at least somebody is willing to admit they don’t like you”  I’m thinking to myself wtf?

On an unrelated to customer service note, after witnessing many temper tantrums and just not finding babies that cute, I have decided that I don’t want to have children.  I don’t exactly find babies ugly but to me they’re just smaller humans.   Not only do I not want to deal with raising a child they are very expensive.  Once the baby is born, even if you’re not using formula (in my store the cheapest i’ve seen is $17), you still have to buy baby clothes, baby food, and diapers/wipes.   Then when they’re older it’s “Mommy I want it!! I want it!”  or “Mommy get this for me NOWWWW!!!!!”  NO thank you.  It will take an amazing guy to convince me otherwise.

Good night everyone and hopefully more rants later.

Annoying Customers

Standard

Working in a grocery store is just so stressful sometimes.  We often get customers who are weird, mean, or annoying.  There’s the one lady who drags you away from your original bagging spot bc she can’t be bothered to actually bag her own stuff.

We have people who insist on doubling everything, including items that really dont need to be doubled.  Seriously people, the bags arent going to rip just with a carton of eggs and bread inside of it.  Plastic bags are actually a lot stronger then you think they are.  They only rip for you because you’re doing it wrong.

Why do you people insist on making us go collect all your forgotten items?  Its not our fault you forgot to get them and we should not be held responsible. If you want your flour you should go get it yourself.  The worst thing i’ve had to get so far is a turkey which isnt exactly light.  It’s not nearly as annoying if the item breaks, because that’s not the customers fault, but other then damaged goods,we should not be forced to get your items for you.

So I’m shopping after work and some lady is blocking my path so, I ask if I she can move so I can go through.  Thankfully I’m not in uniform at the moment.   I could not wait around forever, she seemed kind of annoyed that I asked but I  needed to get out of the store as quickly as possible and I wasn’t willing to push my way past her as I didn’t want to start an argument

Thats all for today.  Hopefully more in the future.
